“ART is MONEY” at first can easily read quite offensive and off-putting, especially if one is an artist.

Counter-intuitively however, ART is MONEY is not making a statement about the commercialization of the arts, quite the opposite.

“ART is MONEY!!!” is more like a sonic force screamed in a great battle that historically has slayed artists and culture alike, hijacked by large corporate studios, the “Grunches of Moloch”.

ART is MONEY actually represents a moment of liberation for artists and creators, it is an innovation in Copyright that puts the creator in complete control of their creation while using the creation to build and store wealth.

ART is MONEY is not making a statement about “art” itself. It is making a statement about “money”, or wealth, and how that wealth can be taken back by the creators and channeled into a community treasure, a true form of plural or community money that maps to universal currency that translates into a development roadmap for technology companies.

Everything from the painting hanging on the wall, the music playing on the radio, or the production of a cinematic experience can be liberated into its own form of wealth, its own form of community money that is creator generated, community distributed, independent of the bankers, the studios and the corporations.

Consider something like a vinyl record album, a novel, a painting becoming a storage of wealth, something similar to a bank account, but much cooler than that.

What’s so cool about this kind of money?

While the painting you purchased is hanging on your wall, you receive benefits and checks in the mail, unique funding for your projects long with a decentralized network to support its growth and development, you discover that you can build a business on top of the painting.

All of these “magic” properties of the painting are embedded into the painting, in addition to whatever interest or value the art collection itself has.

Whomever owns the painting hanging on a wall owns all the magic properties of that painting.

How much is the painting worth when backed with equity, long term community trust, royalty stream and co-fund potential?

Imagine making a creation that was not exchanged for dollars, sold to studios, with the natural copyright violated, but created for a community to build projects, create equity, distribute itself and fund itself?

In “The Artists Revolution meets the Design Revolution”, creators can “take back” the wealth of art absorbed by commerce and corporations simply by optimizing formal copyright with smart contracts, which then can bundle them with other contract types, including but not limited to equity and real estate.

Meet CopyCake™, a type of “plural money” for the new decentralized world

We call this “CopyCake™”, and it really is an innovation in Copyright that is made possible by smart contracts. It includes the smart contract address as a component of the copyrighted work, making the digital asset and the copyright ownership indistinguishable.

CopyCake completely reverses the historical relationship artists and creators have had with the rights to their own creations.

CopyCake allows the storage of copyright value to become hedged with other assets a community creates together.

CopyCake allows the explosive power of copyright ownership to be channeled into a community fund, which also includes designers and engineers of technology. The technology engineers pledge their equity creations supporting the formal copyright stream, backing it with USD accepted valuations.

This “revolution” does not just stop with the creators, but it does something equally empowering for their audience, it turns them into co-owners AND funds them too, building further wealth.

Artistic Liberation

Large studios such as Disney or Netflix will sell you their stock all day. They will never sell you their copyright.

If Disney sold their copyright, Disney stock would be worthless.

The Artist Revolution WILL SELL YOU the copyright, and back the copyright with the equity created by the Design Revolution.

ART is MONEY is actual liberation from the entire funding mechanism of not just tech startups, and media, but everything up to the world of fine art, film, print, television, music, theater, publishing, all of it liberated into “money” with CopyCake.

Studio Novita and the Narrative Novelty

Big Mother DAO’s “Studio Novita” is currently demonstrating the first “studio fund” that is a hybrid of real world equity and fiat exchange merged with digital wallets and smart contracts.

The Artist Revolution represents the creative side in the Studio Novità, generating the “Narrative Novelty”, while the community consuming the narrative becomes the distributor in BAE, Bootstrapping the Arts while turning it into funding for Engineering.

Instead of stock ownership in a corporation that won’t let anyone touch the artist created copyright, The Artist Revolution sells the real value directly to the audience while the Design Revolution supports it with their engineering equity backed companies.

All of this is quite a claim to make.

We are introducing the “Narrative Novelty” structure which has already closed its first “round” and launching a number of engineering startups.

The Artist Revolution should not be confused as a “Cryptocurrency” or anything that has anything to do with FTX, exchanges, or crypto wild swings.

Our application of smart contracts as a contract storage vehicle is almost trivial in comparison to all the innovation it layers on top, we are a hybrid community of arts and engineering, copyright royalty and equity, fiat and blockchain, asset and smart contract.

The smart contract is only the distributive element and has irrelevant value, the value comes from the union of arts and engineering, copyright and equity, audience and stage, just like it always has.

However, without the smart contract, none of this would be possible to combine in such an elegant manner.

In The Artist Revolution meets The Design Revolution, CopyCake becomes the great equalizer, bringing both compliance, commerce, stability and explosive growth all into one single asset, ART.

Why not World Game launches BAE on the blockchain. https://bigmotherdao.com/why-not-world-game-launches-bae-on-the-blockchain/ Sat, 19 Nov 2022 19:55:04 +0000 https://bigmotherdao.com/?p=2564

“The Design Revolution” confronts the Wall Street ponzi with the BAE fund.

On 11/11/22 Why not World Game launched on the blockchain with Act 1, a collection of 360 total works that feature R. Buckminster Fuller or Bucky having a frazzled conversation on the world wide web in 2022.

Our collection is on Open Sea while our project home is located at www.whynotworldgame.com

As of this writing, we have already sold 218 224 239 247 250 281 304 315 out of 360 SOLD OUT! Act 2 will be available shortly!

Act 1 of the art collection mirrors Round 1 in the first pilot of the BAE fund.

Introducing the first pilot of a BAE marketplace

The BAE fund is a dynamic, new, and responsible type of vehicle for communities to collaborate to build shared wealth and value towards the aim of a purpose the community shares in common.

BAE stands for “Bootstrapping Arts and Engineering”, and it is a responsible vehicle to raise $141M in a fund that sells a large art collection, with a few web3 surprises, while building a $1B equity value in community created assets.

Introducing CopyCake™

The vehicle uses formal US Copyright which is bundled in a specific way with a smart contract, making the token of the smart contract and the formal Copyright itself indistinguishable.

This allows a community to create a type of “plural money” or something similar to a “soulbound” token, but this innovation is unique to our community and we call it “CopyCake”.

CopyCake allows “copyright”, specifically as a royalty stream, to function like stock does in a public company, but controlled by a DAO community as an art collectible produced by the community.

CopyCake is shares of royalty stream contracts from the work of art someone in the community acquires. When someone purchases the art in the BAE primary market, they simultaneously own the lion’s share of the royalty stream of the work.

When a work of art is acquired in BAE, the creators of the work make a split with the community, 1/3 to creator, 2/3 to community.

The 1/3 side of the contract takes revenue received and give it to members of the community who engineer technology, enabling them to “start-up”.

These startup companies then support the 2/3rds side of the contract with the potential of equity or revenue shares, depending on conditions which allow for the compliant transaction thereof.

The community then controls directly in the digital wallets up to $94M in the BAE Co-fund.

This cofund can be used to further fund individual or community profits, recoup purchase price, fund non-profit initiatives, invest in other DAO economic systems with token purchases or NFT purchases, or further invest in Big Mother DAO projects or initiatives with six unique startup technology projects emerging.

Backing every single matic purchase is community created equity, beginning in Round 1 with a certain valuation, escalating to a $100M valuation by close of Round 2, and concluding Round 3 as a $1B property, entirely created from within the DAO community.

Using community created equity to support the copyright value of art

The community of startups then proceed down a SEC approved “crowdfunding” marketplaces, such as Reg A+, and agree to forgo tradition Angel or VC rounds which lead to an IPO on Wall Street.

Additionally, the BAE fund trades in crypto on the Polygon blockchain (MATIC) but the assets are all pegged to USD, making the BAE fund impervious to wild swings.

As all contracts within the project all operate under the same terms 1/3 creator side 2/3rds community side, all funds are distributed this way, which we will show creates marketplace “ephemeralization”, making Round 1 easy and inexpensive to initiate the exact amount of critical mass to affect Round 2, which then generates the necessary critical mass to establish Round 3.

This creates a community asset hedge where the works of art become hedged with community assets with formal valuations. This arrangement will allow us to build a dynamic fund totalling up to $141M USD, with 2/3rds of that amount entirely in community controlled wallets.

Round One, co-funding the fund and funding the co-fund.

BAE takes place across three rounds of funding which mirror three acts of storytelling in 9×3 narrative logic. Each round has its own unique opportunities and strategies, with Round 1 comprising less than 1% of the total fund and Round 3 comprising over 2/3rds of the total fund.

In Round One, the community raises money to fund the fund and initiate the first few companies to formally emerge within the process. This aspect of the fund “funds” the roadmap.

Round One “co-funds the fund” by selling distribution contracts for the following scenes, all of which are always 3x the cost of the previous scene.

So we demonstrate, a single contract in Act 1 scene 1 goes on sale for $120. When the digital work is acquired, they are purchasing the distribution rights to sell Act 1 Scene 2 for $360. When that scene sells, 2/3rds of $360 ($240 USD) is distributed to directly to the wallet holder of Scene 1.

This escalation continues, the holder of Scene 2, which cost them $360, holds the distribution contract for Scene 3, which retails for $1080 USD. When that is sold, 2/3rds is distributed directly into the wallet of the Scene 2 holder.

This allows scene holders in Act 1 to recieve 2x of the purchase price of the work, directly in the control of their wallet.

With that control, the wallet holders agree what to do with it. In Round One, the primary strategy is to use it to co-fund the fund and allow the community to acquire more works of art for the fund itself, while also piloting unique “BAE” strategies of how BAE can be applied in a community to hedge, or even recoup lost valued assets and “bootstrap” its own growth.

Round 3 of BAE looks differently, and the final chapter of the narrative fund has not only lion share but unique opportunities not available in Chapters 1- 8.

Already emerging in Round 1 (currently ongoing on our Discord channel if someone has an act 1 ticket in their digital wallet on Polygon) is a community funded project for a “crypto film” production company, with the co-fund funding the film for $50k, enabling the filmmaker to fund his film with “nothing”.

A responsible fund.

The notion that “million dollars is not as cool as a billion dollars” is what creates adoption of ponzi like economics on both Wall Street and in crypto.

What if you could do more with $141M in a BAE market than you could with $1B on Wall Street or in Silicon Valley?

The BAE fund uses $141M to co-fund a community building a $1B equity property, creating a dynamic hedge between community created equity values and community created copyright values supporting one purpose, one fund, one studio.

A BAE market allows perfect distribution of funds without any requirement for anyone to ever “hold the bag”, and all assets and all members of the community essentially hedge and fund each other’s positions.

BAE is elegant, but it cannot continue indefinitely, it must “close”, the story must come to a “resolution”, and “end”. Any other promise would put our community, and our fund, in the same category of any Wall Street or FTX type situation.

In the world of ponzi-scheme fueled dynamics especially with the recent FTX scandal, we introduce an entirely responsible fund.

Because our fund is responsible, it has a ceiling which closes the fund.

This is a number the whole system can responsible hedge and grow. If we were to continue playing BAE in our fund, we would be a ponzi, because such growth is simply not possible without creating massive risk. However, while the story of our fund will certainly “end”, a new story can emerge within the Big Mother DAO community, a new “fund” can emerge, or even many of them. Over time, the natural viral “win-win” funding appeal will eventually make Big Mother DAO a decentralized studio giant.

We are piloting this type of marketplace to show how new measurements in “abundance” can be used to create a stable vehicle, immune from Wall Street ponzi, a new type of community formed wealth, using something like plural money or soulbound token, called CopyCake™.

Building on top of RadicalxChange’s concept

RadicalxChange (RxC) is a well funded global movement and community comprised of scientists, designers, researchers and academics confronting extreme social problems with “radical” new ideas and concepts that can become implemented. A few members of Big Mother’s DAO are also members of this community.

RadicalxChange’s Matt Prewitt introduced a concept to the community called “Plural Money”, which comes from a desire of his for creating new forms of “money” that are localized to specific communities, a form of money that is purely local instead of universal, like USD or the EURO.

Matt identifies, like I do, that “Money is language. Money is a communication technology. It resembles language, democracy, law and telephone networks in that people use it to send messages.”

Because we can look at money like an information system, a language––we want to use the language, the “money”, in a “truthful” way. According to Matt, this is not possible with “universal money”, which basically means that human nature will “game the system of money” to just make more money, even if the message of the money they are using appears counter to that purpose. It means you will buy things that you may not like only because it will earn you more money. You may be a vegan, but your investment portfolio includes “pork rinds” because that makes you money, even if it is counter to your own principles or ethics.

Money as a language makes people greedy, and that greed, that money and that language, can move communities or individuals further away from their own purpose, or even their own happiness, and this is where something like “plural money” could come in.

Is it possible to create a form of “plural money” that is local, and a perfect expression of both value (in a way that is measured financially, and translatable back to “universal” currency) as well as stored “appreciation” value that is localized to a small group?

Matt has a lot of thoughts on ways to design such a currency (see “Plural Money, a New Currency Design”) and this is complemented by the “soulbound” explorations of “sovereign currency” explored in relationship to cryptocurrency and the blockchain.

Introducing a form of “plural money” using natural copyright.

There is a big push in design to find this “plural” money, some sort of “soulbound” token that is somehow both an expression of an abstraction while also able to “speak” in universal terms of “cash”.

I suggest we don’t have to do that much digging around to find a natural expression of this value that Matt and the “soulbound” group of developers are working on, because we already have that in the form of formal “copyright”.

Copyright is a natural form of plural money

Or at least it can be. Copyright is a natural value that is literally created from “nothing” but a blank piece of paper, and there is no cherished cultural expression in the history of the world that can not be captured as “copyright”.

The law, at least here in the US, already has precedent, under no circumstances can anyone other than the creator assign the copyright. And anyone can be a creator of copyright, individual, corporation, collective, nonprofit, government, a rap group, anyone.

The copyright assignment is itself a “licensing stream” that assigns all the monetary value to that work to whomever the creator deems appropriate.

Equity is cool, but copyright is eternal.

Copyright is “eternal” and can survive the collapse of corporations, all of whom “horde” copyright and never make it available to the public (or even the creators themselves!), they are happy to sell you stock all day, but they will never sell you the copyright, why?

Because that is the true store of value. Without copyright, many corporations would be worthless.

So how can we make natural copyright “plural”?

Thank you web3, thank you.

The registration of a creative work with the US Copyright Office is a type of contract. A smart contract, which also has a location and an address, can be included in the registration of the copyrighted work.

This means that, say I create a series of illustrations––I would then use smart contracts to turn them into NFTs, and then take the address of the NFTs and register both the creative work along with the address of the smart contract with the US Copyright Office.

Viola, now there is no distinction between a formal copyright contract (which can contain licensing stream assignments) and a smart contract or token, which means that anyone who has the actual “NFT” in their wallet, is actually holding the “formal copyright” of the work, not just a digital recreation (which is worthless from a universal money perspective).

The Theme of the Purpose can distribute the profit to the cause

Communities create valuable copyright all the time. It starts to get wild and out of hand in a good way when the chemistry of a creative collective can unite with a big purpose. A big purpose finds natural inspiration in a community, and can take the form of visual art, music, writing and even technology.

Using copyright as the mechanism to deliver plural money and soulbound value around inspired purpose is already here.

Big Mother’s DAO is piloting this form of “plural money” in the form of community created “copyright” which takes the expression of a narrative story (like a movie or mini-series), a large art collection (1,080 unique works by prominent artists) which expresses the “theme” of our community.

Bucky Fuller’s Design Revolution

Much of the inspiration for our form of plural money comes from whole system designer R. Buckminster Fuller’s “Design Revolution” which called for the “spontaneous collaboration” between artists and scientists to generate a global energy grid. While a global energy grid is pretty far outside of any expertise our DAO has, we take the “design revolution” in terms of design principles to the internet itself, using it to tackle some very serious problems around online misinformation and content distribution. So the “plural money” we create gets redirected to tech startups who can fulfill on the purpose.

Compliance

Copyright, once sold to someone, can be later “matched” by equity, depending on conditions on the ground. One set of conditions comes in the form of SEC regulated security tokens (like can be found in Reg A+ Crowdfunding), but it could even include things like convertible notes if the holder of the copyright is an accredited investor.

This means that anyone, startup, nonprofit, or individual, can use copyright in combination with smart contracts to build community value, store it as a creative asset with formal copyright assignments, and then use it to fund tech companies or any company that is fulfilling on the purpose, who then return equity back to the community in some way, depending on conditions, all stored in the value of the digital work, stored in a digital wallet.

A whole system of community participation and funding in three easy steps.

  1. A community of artists, designers, engineers and scientists identify a shared purpose. (A big purpose too, because the bigger the purpose, the more inspiring to the artists and designers. So don’t think small, come up with a “big purpose” that can attract sophisticated and seasoned artists as well as engineers.)
  2. The purpose gets translated into a “theme” which is then created by various artists into any kind of medium or include any form of media, from real world paintings or sculptures, novels, film, TV, music. Essentially it is now a product to sell that is either a “ticket” or a “sales receipt”.
  3. The sale of the product goes to the designers and engineers, the “startups”, who then match the receipt of purchase or ticket holder with an equity contract (in this case, SEC regulated security tokens) as the funds generated created product prototypes, pilots, or even launch. (essentially, accommodating what is historically an angel round, and even Series A round, so a “fund” in the traditional sense)

The “ticket” or the “sales receipt” is also a copyright license assignment contract which awards co-ownership in the community in an exact way that is measurable, like acquiring “stock” but its not stock, it’s just copyright.

This allows for the “plural money”, in the form of NFT contracts, to be hedged to equity valuations and USD cash transactions from licensing streams, making it very stable, a combination of different assets in one.

The community can be composed of individuals, companies or non-profits and still use a DAO structure via a multi signature wallet, as the DAO is just the network united around a purpose and connecting via a wallet. An asset company can be created within the community, further building equity and assigning equity to match the copyright created.

As the community generates copyright, the community is then measured by the value of the copyright itself directly, allowing it to act like stock does in a company.

The creators and consumers of the seductive media which distributes the theme of the purpose generate a profit (ticket sales, for example) which is also bundled as a licensing stream NFT.

All 100% of the “profits” made via the above transaction get distributed to the designers of technology or products that then serve the purpose.

These startup that accept money from this community reward the same community back with equity via SEC regulated tokens in equal relation to how much formal “copyright” they own in the whole system.

This allows for a completely compliant system of fundraising developing a type of plural money that is community created and can interact with real world equity and USD measurements.
